About Bodycam

The game and its development

Bodycam is a multiplayer first-person shooter by Reissad Studio. Its viewpoint recreates a body-mounted camera, with a wide-angle image, close weapon handling and detailed environments. It entered Steam Early Access on 7 June 2024.

Matches range from free-for-all combat to team objectives. Explore game modes for their rules, maps for locations, and weapons to compare prices.

The Shooting Range is the game's hub. This is where you spawn when you join the game. Press TAB to access the tablet, which provides access to equipment, settings and matchmaking.

Origins

French developers Luca and Léo began Bodycam as a small project. In their Steam Early Access statement, they describe releasing it at ages 17 and 20 and subsequently expanding the team. The game uses Unreal Engine 5.

Development history

  • 19 January 2024: Reissad announced Playtest #1, before the public release.
  • 7 June 2024: Bodycam entered Steam Early Access.
  • 31 October 2024: Version 0.4.0 introduced the Halloween Zombies update.
  • 14 March 2025: Version 0.6.0 brought Season 2 and bots.
  • 25 November 2025: Version 0.7.0 expanded Zombies and added Powergun CQB.
  • 2 September 2026: Version 0.8, Locked & Loaded, overhauled equipment and core systems.

The Locked & Loaded update, released on 2 September 2026, introduced the loadout editor, FPV drones and RC equipment, the Trenches map and the two-player teams of Wingman. It also reworked the tablet interface and weapon animations.

Version 0.8 patches

  • 3 September — Patch #1: Fixed launch issues with controls, settings, weapons, sound, maps and Steam login. Zombies was temporarily disabled for reworking.
  • 4 September — Patch #2: Increased RP earnings across modes and fixed weapon assets, Lobby visuals, audio cues and an online-initialization crash.
  • 8 September — Patch #3: Restored private-lobby RP earnings at half the standard rate, reduced attachment prices by 25–30%, and fixed a remote crash issue and a Versus currency exploit.
  • 11 September — Patch #4: Reworked keybinding conflict handling and fixed match balance, weapons, loadouts, maps and stability issues.
  • 18 September — Patch #5: Added an initial anti-AFK system and reticle previews, alongside fixes for grenades, lasers, loadouts, maps and the tablet.
  • 25 September — Patch #6: Raised the RP cap to 50,000 and fixed host migration, weapons, reloading, Film Grain, server-browser counts and AFK notifications.
